Cutting Steel……….think SMART®
SMART uses only premium High Speed Steel (HSS) or Bi-Metal material sourced from Europe or the USA.
High Speed Steel (HSS) – is used on the semi-circular and full round flat blades, HSS offers high wear resistance and withstands increases in temperature without losing its temper which is necessary with cutting thin sheet steel and fibreglass
Bi-Metal – Bi-Metal blades offer more cutting versatility and longer life through their unique construction; the edge of the blade is constructed of a high speed steel ribbon while the body of the blade is made of spring steel. The two sections are then is electron-beam welded together. The advantages of a bi-metal blade is that the hardened edge of the blade stays sharp longer than a standard carbon blade and the spring steel body allows the blade to flex.
